Graphic Designer

Department: Creative

The Graphic Designer works closely with a diverse team of creative and art directors, medical writers, project managers, and agency partners to translate scientific and brand objectives into an engaging visual story. They are accountable for their own projects and support other team members with larger projects and deadlines while remaining flexible through multiple revisions. Reporting to the Creative Director, this individual must be a solutions-oriented, self-directed individual with outstanding communication and teaming skills.


Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand project assignment, audience, and intended message.
  • Ability to take direction and work efficiently
  • Prioritize, manage, and execute project deliverables to meet associated deadlines
    • Approximately 50% of deliverables will be performed in PowerPoint
  • Contribute to group meetings and brainstorm sessions, offering ideas and solutions
  • Prepare files for print production 
  • Prepare art for use in digital media, collaborating with web designers/developers
  • Create and provide quotes for deliverables
  • Develop concepts and solutions that translate scientific and client objectives into an engaging visual story
  • Provide oversight to project deliverables to ensure compliance with brand guidelines and graphic best practices
  • Liaise with other members of the graphic design team to maximize creativity and excellence in performance and delivery


Necessary Skills

  • Good working knowledge of Adobe CC InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 
  • Expert in print production and complex legal approval processes – like Veeva
  • Outstanding ability in layout composition, typography and color theory
  • Preparing art for video and animation, a plus
  • HTML or web design skill a plus but not necessary
  • Medical knowledge a plus but not necessary

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree in visual communication with 3 or more years’ experience.  Medical education, pharmaceutical marketing/advertising and/or healthcare marketing/advertising experience is a plus.
