Human Resources Manager

Reports to: Chief Financial & Compliance Officer (CFO) 

The Human Resources (HR) Manager is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function. This individual is delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary to carry out the assigned duties to support the company. The Manager oversees a range of functions related to employee recruitment and retention, human resource management, employee development, training, and employee benefits. The Manager establishes and sustains programs to help manage, develop, and motivate the growth and retention of employees with impeccable confidentiality.    

Essential Functions: 

Human Resource Management 

  • Partners with the leadership team to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning. 

  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which includes creating job postings and managing their placement, works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates, extends job offers, conducts new-employee orientations, and conducts exit interviews. The manager collaborates with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. 

  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees. 

  • Updates the competency-based human resource program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts regular salary surveys; analyzes compensation; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.  

  • Maintains a human resource information system that meets the organization's personnel information needs. 

  • Works directly with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on personnel matters, including timely reviews and documentation of development goals.  

  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations. 

  • Collaborates with leadership team to develop, recommend, and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures. 

  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization’s compliance.  

  • Maintains responsibility for organization compliance with federal, state, and local legislation pertaining to all personnel matters.  

 

Employee Benefits 

  • Collaborates and supports Finance Officer in the administration of payroll. 
  • Support Finance Officer with health and benefit plans, including enrollments and terminations. 

  • Manages annual open enrollment period during fourth quarter of each year. Acts as a liaison with various insurance carriers and fosters effective relationships.

  • Participates as a Subject Matter Expert   

  • Assists other department leadership and perform tasks outside of HR function, when needed 

  • High level of confidentiality is required

Education and/or Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Accounting or Finance, Business Administration or related field, with 5+ years’ experience. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Basic knowledge of common human resource practices and procedures and ability to handle high level of sensitive and confidential employee information. Experience in creating and leading employee development training programs. Prior experience in recruitment and staffing a must.
