Financial Project Associate

Department: FACTS

Reports to: Associate Director, Finance 

The Financial Project Associate supports the Finance team with day-to-day operations. They support the forecasting and budgeting process and are responsible for compiling and analyzing project and internal company reporting. This role uses good organizational skills, strong attention to detail, reporting and job costing skills, and effective problem-solving to ensure success. This position requires a hands-on team player with excellent communication and project management skills who works well across departments and displays strong analytical skills. 


Essential Functions 

  • Compiles project financial and statistical data reports and summarizes such information in graphic and/or report form 
  • Supports project teams with project setup and reporting 
  • Administrates project management software 
  • Builds and maintains custom financial reports for project and account managers 
  • Has experience in analytical and key performance indicator report writing (a plus) 
  • Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable, including but not limited to processing accounts payable invoices, check requests, and employee reimbursements 
  • Supports monthly client invoicing processes through data entry 
  • Assists in month-end close 
  • Supports other special requests or projects as requested 

 

Skills/Personal Characteristics 

  • Is experienced with NetSuite and OpenAir (a plus) 
  • Must have strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with an expert focus on Excel 
  • VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formatting, and tables 
  • Can quickly adapt to ad hoc requests 
  • Must be independent in meeting deadlines and project goals 
  • Should be detail oriented, organized, and capable of analyzing large sets of data

Required Education and/or Experience 

  • A bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of relevant experience (finance, operations, or accounting)
